Trust & Safety
Safety at Drop
Last updated: August 2026
Drop is in closed beta in the Bay Area and Chicago. Our safety program is active and expanding as we grow — your feedback directly shapes it.
Safety is foundational to a marketplace built on trust. Because riders and drivers agree on a price together, both sides show up committed — but we back that up with tools, standards, and a direct line to us.
🚨 In an emergency, always call 911 first. Then report the incident to us so we can follow up.
For riders
- Know before you go. You see your driver's name, rating, and vehicle before the ride — confirm they match before you get in.
- Share your trip. Send your live trip details to someone you trust from within the app.
- Buckle up. Drop shows a seat-belt reminder at the start of every trip.
- Rate every ride. Ratings keep the community accountable and help everyone choose well.
For drivers
- Drivers must maintain a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and their own personal auto insurance as required by law.
- Drivers confirm seat belts before starting a trip and can share ride status with riders.
- Two-way ratings mean riders are accountable too.
Verification
During the beta, we review driver information as part of onboarding. Verification and screening processes will continue to strengthen as we scale. Nothing on this page guarantees the conduct of any rider or driver — please use good judgment on every trip.
